This version uses the new Stirling SB4424 + SB4428 drivers, and a very hi-grade 'SuperSpec' crossover, all housed in thin-walled 'Reference' matched veneer cabinets. The cabinets feature 9-mm birch plywood construction, removable veneered rear panel, fitted with double layers of bituminous pads. These cabinets are modelled after the famous LS3/5a serial number 001/002 pair featured in Hi-Fi News and Record Review. The 'legendary' sonic character of the original LS3/5a has been retained, with the new model having the added benefit of a five-year warranty and the assurance of the future availability of spare parts.

Da quasi due anni convivo felicemente con le nuove Stirling LS3/5a.
Cio` che mi appassiona di queste "Inglesine" e` la loro capacita` di riproporre l'atmosfera del concerto in un piccolo ambiente.
Sono cosciente che non possono verosimilmente restituire le proporzioni, i bassi e l'imponenza di un'orchestra, ma non rinuncerei mai alla loro musicalita` a solo favore di potenza e dimensione scenica.
Se si ascolta il disco di un concerto cui si e` stati, si nota che la magia delle LS3/5a non risiede nell'abilita` di riprodurne l'intero spettro di frequenze, ma piuttosto nella grazia con cui ti fanno rivivere le emozioni che hai provato durante quella rappresentazione. Insomma, sono affascinanti piu`per come suggeriscono l'evento sonoro che per come in realta`lo ricreano.
Al giorno d'oggi, e' indiscusso che esistano sistemi di altoparlanti capaci di grandi estensioni in frequenza ed idonei a suscitare forti emozioni, ma a che costo? E che tipo di sala d'ascolto o apparecchiature ancillari richiedono? Le Nostre, invece, sono diffusori a misura d'uomo, perfettamente adatti ad audiofili normali con abitazioni normali!
