New product
The Tesi series, including the Tesi 5 model, stands out for its excellent balance of quality and price. It utilizes many proven components, known from models like Diva 3 and Diva 5 by Indiana Line. It features a simple yet versatile design. The new Tesi series columns offer an attractive, modern sound that is balanced, clean, and dynamic. The speakers are available in three colours: black oak, white, and mocha, catering to diverse user preferences and allowing the speakers to complement the room’s decor.
STYLISH AND STURDY ENCLOSURE
The Tesi 5 model has an MDF enclosure reinforced internally with sturdy braces, consistent with all floorstanding constructions from Indiana Line. Compared to its predecessor, the Tesi 561 model, the dimensions of the enclosure have changed slightly – the new Tesi 5 column is 1 cm taller. The front-facing bass reflex port allows the speaker to be placed close to the wall without concerns about excessive emphasis on low tones. Speaker baskets feature trim rings concealing their baskets resulting in an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Also noteworthy are the magnetic grille and slightly rounded upper edges of the enclosure, emphasizing the universal character of the Tesi 5 speaker.
THE NEW FRONT PANEL OF THE TWEETER
The Indiana Line Tesi 5 features a 26-millimeter high-frequency dome with the Indiana Line’s special feature: a Radial Venting Chamber. The tweeter’s magnetic system incorporates a powerful neodymium magnet, and the front of the high-frequency transducer has been redesigned compared to previous models in the Tesi series. It now has a rectangular shape inspired by the latest speakers from the Diva series, although it is implemented using a simpler mounting technique. With this new design, enhancing the aesthetic integration with other electroacoustic transducers and significantly improving the speaker’s overall appearance.
NEW ELECTROACOUSTIC TRANSDUCERS
In addition to the tweeter, the Tesi 5 model employs two other transducers – a mid-woofer and a low-frequency driver with substantial linear excursion. Both have a diameter of 16 cm, the same as their counterparts in the older generation of the Tesi series. What has changed is the use of distinctive, smooth membranes made of polypropylene with a touch of mica in both transducers. This ensures the necessary rigidity for exceptionally precise reproduction of even the smallest details in the played sounds. Furthermore, the phase corrector used in the Tesi 561 model has been replaced in the Tesi 5 speaker with a dust cap. All these improvements result in a clean, yet open sound in the midrange with a deep and pronounced bass.
OPTIMIZED COMPONENTS
The Indiana Line Tesi 5 speaker incorporates a total of three well-designed electroacoustic transducers. Those responsible for the low and mid-range tones have been optimized using modern design techniques, including special rings to linearize impedance. The implementation of larger magnets has significantly reduced distortion, improved linearity, and enhanced the reproduction of low frequencies. These solutions ensure a transparent, clear sound, even when playing at high volume.
INNOVATIVE DUAL-WAVE SUSPENSION
The Tesi 5 features an innovative suspension system for its mid-woofer speakers, known as Dual-Wave. This solution was first introduced in the new models of the Diva series. Visually, Dual-Wave draws inspiration from the designs of stage speakers equipped with accordion-like springs. In the case of Indiana Line speakers, the suspension has been precisely engineered to extend the linear operating range and reduce intermodulation distortion, especially at low frequencies. This, in turn, contributes to improved clarity in the midrange. The positive impact of this solution is particularly noticeable in the reproduction of percussion, acoustic, and string instruments.
ENHANCED CROSSOVER DESIGN
The new, highly optimized crossover of the floorstanding Indiana Line Tesi 5 has been developed using state-of-the-art design methods and specialized measurement systems. It maintains corresponding topology and component quality as those installed in the new Diva series models (Diva 3 and Diva 5). Thanks to the crossover, which ensures a smooth impedance characteristic, high efficiency, low distortions, and proper sound distribution, the Tesi 5 speaker is compatible with any amplifier.
