HiFiMAN HE1000 UNVEILED Planar Magnetic Headphones

This enhancement delivers a more engaging listening experience by expanding the soundstage and improving sonic clarity through reduced sound reflection. Dr. Bian elaborates: "The most effective way to minimize sound wave reflections and refractions caused by the grill is to completely remove it, achieving full diaphragm openness. Stealth Magnet technology features a unique asymmetrical, dual-sided magnetic circuit designed to progressively fine-tune the magnetic gap and the cross-sectional configuration both within and beyond the diaphragm. This innovation optimizes sound transmission and diaphragm control at a precisely calibrated balance, minimizing distortion to an absolute minimum. The result is a sound profile that is inherently warmer, with significantly enhanced imaging and clarity.

Magnetic Veil

The HE1000 Unveiled incorporates a removable back panel, called Magnetic Veil, that is a result of HIFIMAN using CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology, a process of relying on computer software to control the movement and operation of machines that cut, carve, and engrave materials. Magnetic Veils fit over the ear cups, helping to avoid damage caused by the absorption of magnetic objects when the headphone is not in use.

The Planar Magnetic Operating Principle

You can think of planar magnetic drivers as a sort of crossbreed between dynamic and electrostatic drivers. Like a standard dynamic headphone, planar magnetic headphones use the magnetic field around a conductor that has electrical current flowing through it to drive the diaphragm. Like an electrostatic driver, the diaphragm of a planar magnetic speaker is a thin sheet of flexible transparent film, but unlike an electrostat, the film has very thin, flat electrical conductors (wires ... but very flat ones) in it.
