Description
The Quantum Noise Resonator+ is a further development of the QNR, which has been popular for years. Quantum noise is a well-known phenomenon in physics that arises when light signals and radio waves are amplified. In order to minimize this quantum noise, special circuits have been implemented in communications and X-ray technology for years, which enable better evaluation of the signals. These circuits are designed in such a way that they oppose a tiny signal in phase opposition to the wanted signal. Based on this idea, the QNR uses LED technology to mitigate interference on the mains sine wave. Or much simpler: It is a noise suppression for the sinusoidal tone in the mains current.

As early as 2015, the Taiwanese company Telos Audio presented the Quantum Noise Resonator, a new type of device that contained a modernized scalar field generator in a smaller design. This worked excellently in terms of sound, but its construction caused great skepticism among the test engineers of the test laboratory for the CE certification. A revised version received the certificate required for export in 2016, but relies on a universal switching power supply.

Telos has now developed a special version of the Quantum Noise Resonator for Sieveking Sound, which uses a short-circuit-proof, encapsulated safety transformer from the BLOCK company in Verden instead of the switched-mode power supply. It is therefore only suitable for the voltage range of 220-240 volts. In terms of sound, this is the best version of the device, as Telos boss Jeff Lin ungrudgingly acknowledges.

In addition to an update of the circuit, the QNR+ now also uses a Schumann wave emitter. This generates a light electromagnetic wave that corresponds to the natural resonance of the earth's magnetic field. The new version of the Quantum Noise Resonator sounds even more relaxed and spacious.

The Quantum Noise Resonator+ is connected to a power cable and is best plugged into the same socket strip as the hi-fi system. It then acts as a parallel current conditioner, which, unlike serial filters, does not limit the maximum voltage supply. That sounds very theoretical, but obviously works well. When listening, the impression arises that the music is playing against a blacker background. Instruments are displayed more vividly. High-frequency tones - such as the hi-hat of a drum kit or the tones of a flute - appear more articulated and harmoniously embedded in the sound image. Overall, the entire space around the speakers appears larger and more clearly defined. The music simply flows better and melody arcs that were previously perceived as separate intertwine.

Anyone using the device for the first time will notice in the A/B comparison that the music seems to be quieter at first. This is due to the now acoustically clearly deburred high-frequency range, which enables a more relaxed listening experience. The device itself does not react to its location and can also be placed next to or under the system without any problems. However, we recommend using a short and preferably very high-quality mains cable: The quality of the mains cable used has an unexpectedly significant effect on the sound of the entire system. A Parsec Power from Cardas Audio already works well - a CLEAR Beyond Power unfortunately even better.

The packaging includes four elastomer buffers that the end user can attach himself as a device foot. For this, the surface of the Quantum Noise Resonator+ should be absolutely dry and dust-free.

The Sieveking Sound Quantum Noise Resonator+ has a continuous power consumption of approx. 1.5 watts. In the event of an overvoltage, a sluggish 2 A fine-wire fuse tries to protect the circuit board. However, should it ever be necessary to replace the fuse, a simple suction cup helps to open the housing cover.

In households with modern power cabling, we recommend connecting the electrical phase to the IEC socket on the right-hand side, seen from behind.
Specifications:
- Continuous power consumption: 1.5 watts
- Dimensions (L x W x H): 18 x 13.5 x 4 cm³
