Topping G5 Portable Headphone Amplifier NFCA DAC ES9068ASAS

The brand new Topping G5 is a portable headphone amplifier that integrates NFCA amplifier stage, a DAC chip ES9068AS, and Bluetooth connection, all in a compact and elegant body. It can be used as a USB DAC for mobile phones and ipads, or it can be placed on the desktop with PCs and laptops as a USB DAC. What's more, it can be connected with mobile devices via Bluetooth.

Small and exquisite aluminum body

Topping G5 uses a single piece of aluminum to make a delicate and sturdy casing through precise CNC machining, and the reasonable volume will not become a burden when carrying out. The faux leather on the bottom keeps the Topping G5 from scratching when stacked with other devices.

Plug and Play

Topping G5 has a wide range of compatibility: Windows 10 or above, MAC, Linux, iOS, Android. It uses 2nd generation XMOS, USB supports up to PCM32bit768kHz and DSD512 native. Topping G5 has a built-in 4000mAh battery, so that it does not need to rely on the power supply of the mobile phone like other portable DAC/AMP, so it will not reduce the battery life of your mobile phone.

LDAC 24bit96kHz Bluetooth transmission

Topping G5 has the certification of Hi-Res Audio Wireless and LDAC. It uses QCC5125 chipset to support LDAC/AAC/SBC/aptX/aptX LL/aptX HD/aptX Adaptive Protocol. To get even better sound quality from Bluetooth, the Topping G5 connects its digital signal to ESS ES9068AS DAC chip to achieve excellent performance in a portable size.

Built-in NFCA Headphone amplifier

Topping G5 uses an NFCA module specifically modified for portable devices, allowing to maintain low distortion and good battery life. It provides a 3 step gain control, so that it can pair both with sensitive IEMs and high-impedance headphones.

Long battery life

Due to the optimization and a 4000mAh battery, Topping G5 can get 25 hours of battery life via AUX input and 10 hours in DAC mode.

Aggiornamento uscita line

L'uscita line (etichettata "in") consente di bypassare la sezione ampli e di usare il G5 come un DAC puro, collegandolo all'ingresso di un amplificatore (switch "USB" oppure "BT").
Con switch "aux" si esclude il DAC e si può usare il G5 come amplificatore portatile.

Ottimo prodotto

Ottima potenza e qualità di suono: ricco, ottima corposità e punch dei bassi anche con cuffie neutre e a bassa impedenza (HiFiMan Sundara), ma pilota con facilità anche quelle a impedenza maggiore. Scena sonora molto dettagliata.
Pairing facile e riconoscimento Bluetooth sempre velocissimo, ma richiede prossimità allo smartphone.
Buona autonomia della batteria.
Bel design, bellissima la finestrella in vetro che mostra i componenti e su cui si accendono i led di funzione; ottimo feel maneggiandolo; compatto, il peso, considerevole, dà l'idea di solidità. Manopola volume non comodissima e poco spazio per i jack a "L".
Attenzione all'uscita Line, con segnale a volume massimo che può danneggiare le cuffie; il manuale, molto striminzito, non chiarisce che utilizzo farne, e, messo così, ho preferito evitare di usarlo sinora.
Prezzo un po' elevato ma compensato dal livello di qualità.

Topping G5

Ampli/DAC molto ben suonante, con una timbrica naturale ed una ottima riserva di potenza. Le regolazioni essenziali ci sono tutte, senza fronzoli pero', nella filosofia topping. Prezzo tutto sommato contenuto se confrontato con la concorrenza e data la qualita' del prodotto.
