Heed Audio Elixir Integrated Amplifier with Phono Stage and Headphone Out
Heed Audio Elixir is a 50W/ch Integrated amplifier with phono input and class-A headphone output, black finish.
One of our best magic potions, brewed from the greatest Heed values. An essence of our world, to pleasure all your senses.
The worthy heir to the classic British-school amplifiers Nytech and the OBELISK ION 2 has arrived, delivering sonic quality and power on par with the multi-award-winning Obelisk Si. Exceptionally musical, it comes fully equipped with a phono input and an independent headphone stage, directly derived from the renowned Heed CANAMP. This compact integrated amplifier effortlessly drives a wide range of high-quality loudspeakers. 50 watts per channel of pure musical energy. Undoubtedly one of the most compelling integrated amplifiers in its class. Here are some very stable points in our world, music being one of them. Music reproduction by Heed is another one. For more than a quarter century, we walk our own way, to show everyone that the world is far from flat.
– 4 analogue and 1 MM phono inputs
– Class-A headphone amplifier
– Transcap – output capacitor technology
– Discrete bipolar transistor architecture
The Elixir is the essence of how we think about music reproduction. This integrated amplifier puts down four important cornerstones that show provide a playground for the listener. A preamplifier with its dedicated output, a power amplifier with plenty of juice to drive anything reasonable, a phono preamplifier to re-discover those black discs, and a headphone amplifier with way too much talents for a secondary function only. But we have built them into one box because these are the basic functions everyone should experience in “My First Hi-Fi System”.
As it happens, it is well enough for the second and the third as well…
The Elixir has a neat place amongst our Transcap technology amplifiers. It is the purest music performer of all, without any technical compromise and presents the music effortlessly. Besides the power amplifier, the headphone stage also benefits from the basic idea of the Transcap technology. Class-A, darlington-driven, capacitor-coupled outputs feed your headphones like nothing else you have experienced before.
The MM phono stage is based on the Questar’s circuit. As the standalone amp, this integrated incarnation is thick and warm and provides a great overall amplification for nearly all kind of MM cartridges. It’s a very easy way to find your way back into the analogue domain, and be a lifetime captive of the black vinyl.

Heed Audio at a glance
Heed Audio is not just another hi-fi electronics manufacturer with British audio heritage in its DNA — it is a manifesto of authenticity, passion, and independent vision. Founded in Hungary, the brand stands out for its radically human approach to sound reproduction. In a market so often dominated by numbers, measurements, and technological catchphrases, Heed chooses a different path: that of the listening experience as an absolute value.
Every Heed product is designed to serve the music, not the machine. The amplifiers, DACs, and external power supplies are built according to a philosophy that places musicality, tonal coherence, and natural soundstaging at the very centre. There are no gimmicks — just tonal integrity and emotional balance that recall the finest British electronics of the golden era, reimagined with elegance, craftsmanship, and a modern spirit.
And that’s exactly where it all began — with one defining example:
In the 1980s, those who brought home an ION Obelisk experienced something rare and precious: the feeling of having discovered one of hi-fi’s best-kept secrets. It wasn’t a flashy amplifier, nor did it shout its specifications. But from the very first listen, many enthusiasts realised that something extraordinarily musical was happening.
Here’s what it felt like:
-
A sense of wonder: at how such a compact device could drive even demanding speakers with such ease and refinement.
-
Emotion: because the Obelisk didn’t impress through brute power, but through its ability to tell the story of music — with fluidity, dynamic range, and a sense of timing reminiscent of valve amplifiers.
-
Deep satisfaction: the kind that comes from extended listening sessions, free of fatigue, drawn into a sound that keeps you there.
-
A sense of uniqueness: because owning an Obelisk meant making a choice that went against the grain — a commitment to musical substance over passing trends.
In short, those who welcomed such a device into their home discovered an amplifier that didn’t try to dazzle with figures or appearance, but that won them over gradually, listen after listen, by speaking directly to the heart.
And on this front, Heed Audio makes no compromises. It doesn’t follow fashion. It’s not made for everyone. But those who discover it rarely look back. Because listening with Heed isn’t about technical showmanship — it’s about returning to music as a deep, living, and emotionally resonant experience.
If you’re seeking the soul of sound, Heed is a name worthy of your attention — and your respect.
