Description

"fo.Q" Remaster-Ring Disk Stabilizer DS-25A Damping kit for 18 CD. New "A" version.

This product is an audio quality-improving seal for optical discs, utilizing an organic polymer hybrid damping material with the highest level of vibration-absorption performance.
Simply apply the 0.4-mm thick ring-shaped seal to the center of a CD, DVD, or other optical disc to absorb the minute levels of unnecessary vibration generated during playback with amazing efficiency, and greatly attenuate the physical and electrical noise caused by this vibration.
This makes the sonority, spread, thickness, and subtlety of the sound extremely true to life, dramatically improving the ability to reproduce the original sound. Additionally, the center (remaining) portion of the ring-shaped seal can be used to remove remaining adhesive, or to tune the device.

UsageUsage of Fo.Q DS-25

1 - Peel off the seal by using the plastic spatula.

2 - Put the seal on the center of the case with the adhesive face of the seal upturned.

3 - Put the disc on the case with the label said downward ,and firmly press the seal.

Notes:

  • Be careful not to cut yourself with the plastic spatula when removing it from the case or using it to peel off or apply the seal.
  • When removing the seal from a disc, be sure to completely remove any remaining adhesive. If adhesive from the seal remains on the disc, then the audio device could become damaged the next time the disc is played.
  • When removing adhesive from a disc, you can use the remaining center portion from the seal ring. Press the adhesive portion of the seal to the disc several times; this will cleanly remove the adhesive.

Contents
• 0.4-mm thick ring-shaped seal: 18 pieces
• Plastic spatula: 1 piece

There are some test reports of DS-25A by a famous Japanese musician:

- The sound becomes impure when plural instruments are played together. After using DS-25A, the sound of a piano and violins became well balanced showing a position of each instrument clearly.

- When the sound of two guitars comes together, the sound becomes dull and cloudy.
After using DS-25A, the sound of two guitars became three-dimensional and made a beautiful harmony.

- The sound of this CD is originally very high quality, however, DS-25A improved a dynamic of the performance of the orchestra, a depth of the expression, a delicacy of the sound.

All the above effects were brought by eliminating the vibration of the disc by DS-25A.

‘fo.Q’ High Damping Material at a a glance

‘fo.Q’ (please read as "pho-cue") is a product applying materials developed with the support of JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency). Vibrational energy is converted to electric energy, and finally to heat energy, enabling efficient absorption. There are no rubber or heavy metal overtones, and efficient attenuation of the finest vibrations, considered difficult to remove up to now, promise you the purest and clearest tones.

Damping performance of ‘fo.Q’

Damping performance of ‘fo.Q’The graph to the left shows the difference in damping when ‘fo.Q’ is adhered to metal products, and the same level of vibration is applied. Using ‘fo.Q’ makes it possible to dampen the vibration of materials much more quickly than when it is not used. This benefit quickly and efficiently dampens the vibration of audio equipment, improving the audio quality and raising the signal-to-noise ratio.

Comparison of damping performance with ‘fo.Q’
and conventional damping materials

Comparison of damping performance with ‘fo.Q’ and conventional damping materialsThe damping material used in ‘fo.Q’ has at least twice the damping performance of conventional damping materials.
Additionally, with conventional damping material, damping performance falls as strain decreases, ultimately reaching zero. In contrast, the damping material used in ‘fo.Q’ features the property that as strain decreases, damping performance increases. These properties enable ‘fo.Q’ to quickly and efficiency damp the minute vibrations generated by audio equipment, making it possible to enjoy clear, flowing audio.

Loss factor is a measure of damping performance. The higher the loss factor, the better the damping performance is. Here the term “strain” refers to the vibration itself; it does not refer to strain in the audio.

Damping performance comparison with
the conventional inorganic boards and ‘fo.Q’ audio boards

Damping performance comparison with the conventional inorganic boards and ‘fo.Q’ audio boards‘fo.Q’ audio boards have an average of 10 times the damping performance of conventional inorganic boards over the entire frequency band. In the low-frequency band (300 Hz and below) and the high-frequency band (4,000 Hz and above) in particular, the damping performance is extremely high.
These effects enable ‘fo.Q’ to dramatically dampen low and high-frequency noise in particular, clarifying the contours of once difficult-to-hear audio. It also eliminates distortion when audio is played at high volumes.
