Description

‘fo.Q’ Analog Record Player Components are composed of 2 semi rigid turntable sheet types with different thickness (1 mm and 2 mm) processing smooth surface properties using the latest molding technologies. They also have a thin adjustment tape (adhesive sheet at about 0.5 mm thick) for the cartridge, head shell and pickup arm. Enjoy full flexibility in how you use it!

Your ingenuity and skills can locate the perfect performance mode, evolving a wonderful world of music sensation before your eyes. Discover the amazingly rich world of music information carved into record sound grooves, that you have never experienced before.

Examples of Adjustment Methods

Cartridge 1. Cartridge

Cartridges vary in many ways, including type, shape, material, and size. Cut the seal to the desired size using scissors or other cutting implement, then adhere it to the surface of the cartridge case as shown in the figure to the right. Don't stick all of the adjusting tape onto the cartridge at once. Instead, we recommend first sticking the minimum necessary amount to the front of the cartridge, followed by the sides, top, and bottom, checking the sound with your own ears, and searching for the best amounts and locations for the tape. If the sound becomes too constricted, remove the adjusting tape from the appropriate locations until you have found the best spots for your audio enjoyment.

Cartridge 2. Head Shell

Try cutting an appropriate length of adjusting tape and sticking it to the top of the head shell. The optimum amount of tape will vary depending on the material, shape, and size of the head shell, so you should adjust the amount while listening to the audio.

Cartridge 3. Pickup Arm

Adhere the seal to the center or bottom of the pickup arm.

‘fo.Q’ High Damping Material at a a glance

‘fo.Q’ (please read as "pho-cue") is a product applying materials developed with the support of JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency). Vibrational energy is converted to electric energy, and finally to heat energy, enabling efficient absorption. There are no rubber or heavy metal overtones, and efficient attenuation of the finest vibrations, considered difficult to remove up to now, promise you the purest and clearest tones.

Damping performance of ‘fo.Q’

Damping performance of ‘fo.Q’The graph to the left shows the difference in damping when ‘fo.Q’ is adhered to metal products, and the same level of vibration is applied. Using ‘fo.Q’ makes it possible to dampen the vibration of materials much more quickly than when it is not used. This benefit quickly and efficiently dampens the vibration of audio equipment, improving the audio quality and raising the signal-to-noise ratio.

Comparison of damping performance with ‘fo.Q’
and conventional damping materials

Comparison of damping performance with ‘fo.Q’ and conventional damping materialsThe damping material used in ‘fo.Q’ has at least twice the damping performance of conventional damping materials.
Additionally, with conventional damping material, damping performance falls as strain decreases, ultimately reaching zero. In contrast, the damping material used in ‘fo.Q’ features the property that as strain decreases, damping performance increases. These properties enable ‘fo.Q’ to quickly and efficiency damp the minute vibrations generated by audio equipment, making it possible to enjoy clear, flowing audio.

Loss factor is a measure of damping performance. The higher the loss factor, the better the damping performance is. Here the term “strain” refers to the vibration itself; it does not refer to strain in the audio.

Damping performance comparison with
the conventional inorganic boards and ‘fo.Q’ audio boards

Damping performance comparison with the conventional inorganic boards and ‘fo.Q’ audio boards‘fo.Q’ audio boards have an average of 10 times the damping performance of conventional inorganic boards over the entire frequency band. In the low-frequency band (300 Hz and below) and the high-frequency band (4,000 Hz and above) in particular, the damping performance is extremely high.
These effects enable ‘fo.Q’ to dramatically dampen low and high-frequency noise in particular, clarifying the contours of once difficult-to-hear audio. It also eliminates distortion when audio is played at high volumes.

Recensione
